Don Larson, a pitcher for the New York Yankees, pitched a perfect game on October 8, 1956 in game 5 of the World Series between the New York Yankees and the Brooklyn Dodgers. The Yankees won the game 2 to 0. Brooklyn came back in game 6 to shutout the Yankees 1 to 0 in 10 innings. The Yankees, however, went on to take the 1956 World Series 4 games to 3.
Larson's performance is also the only postseason perfect game to date.
