Major League Soccer 2007 MLS Cup Playoffs
The MLS Cup is awarded to the champion of Major League Soccer (MLS), the team who wins the MLS Cup Championship game. The MLS Cup Championship game is the third and final round of Major League Soccer's playoffs, which consist of the semifinals, conference championships, and championship rounds.
MLS Cup Championship
The MLS Cup Championship Game pits the Eastern Conference Champion against the Western Conference Champion in a single 90 minute game. If the game is tied at the end of 90 minutes a 30 minute extra time is played. The extra time is divided into two 15 minute periods. If still tied at the end of the extra time kicks from the penalty mark are used to determine the winner.

MLS Conference Championships
The MLS Conference Championships are played between the two Eastern Conference teams and the two Western Conference teams advancing from the Semifinals. MLS Semifinals Playoffs
8 teams have qualified for the MLS playoffs semifinals round, four from each conference (Eastern and Western). The MLS Cup Semifinals are a two-game, aggregate goal format. One game is played in each of the contenders home stadium. The winner advances to the MLS Cup Conference Finals.
If the teams are tied after 180 minutes of play (2 games) a 30 minute extra time (divided into 2 15 minute periods) is played. If still tied then kicks from the penalty mark will be used to determine the winner.
