The National Hockey League (NHL)
The National Hockey League, or NHL, was founded in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. From its humble beginnings with only five teams, the NHL has grown into a league with 30 teams. The NHL's 30 teams are organized into tow conferences, the Eastern Conference with fifteen teams, and the Western Conference with fifteen teams. The Eastern Conference has three divisions, the Atlantic, Northeast, and Southeast. The Western Conference is also organized into three division, the Central, Northwest, and Pacific.
Following is a brief synopsis of the NHL and a listing of all NHL teams.
