The Rodney Dangerfield’s (“I don’t get no respect”) of New York Sports

How must it feel to be the New York Mets. Here they are competing in the NLCS while the bulk of the New York sports press has bee speculating on whether or not Joe Torre, manager of the Yankees, would be fired (apparently the answer is now – no). Maybe if the Mets manage to advance past the NLCS and win the World Series; the first place they should take their trophy would be the Bronx. They can remind the Yankees and their fans what a World Series trophy looks like…
