NBA D-League

The NBA Development League, also known as the NBA D-League, is the official developmental organization for the NBA and serves as a minor league farm system for NBA teams. Each of the twelve D-League teams shares its affiliation with either two or three NBA teams, the lone exception being the Los Angeles D-Fenders, which is owned by the Los Angeles Lakers. Players on D-League teams are contracted to the league itself and not to their individual team. Each NBA team is allowed to delegate two of its first or second year players to its affiliated D-League team, without risk of losing the players. Players may be called up by their NBA team mid-season; however, no player can be sent down to a D-League team more than three times in a season.

Currently, the NBA D-League is divided into two divisions (Eastern Division and Western Division), each consisting of six teams. Following is a brief synopsis of the NBA D-League and a listing of all its teams:
