Cleveland Indians HistoryThe Cleveland Indians were one of the American League's eight charter franchises. They were founded in 1901 as the Cleveland Blues. They changed their name to the Cleveland Bronchos in 1902, and again changed their name to the Cleveland Naps, finally settling on Indians in 1915. The team also goes by two nicknames - "The tribe" and "The Wahoos". The Cleveland Indians have played in three stadiums in their history:
